China Post tracking not updating

China Post tracking not updating? International postal parcels routinely go quiet for days — here's what's normal.

Why it happens

China Post and ePacket parcels are scanned at departure from China, at the destination-country border and on final delivery — with long silent gaps in between, sometimes 1–3 weeks on the international leg.

Once the parcel reaches the destination country, tracking often switches to the local postal carrier (e.g. USPS, Canada Post, Royal Mail), which resumes scans.

What to do

  • Be patient on the international leg — no scans for 1–2 weeks is normal for economy postal shipping from China.
  • Once it lands in the destination country, look for handoff to the local post and its new scans.

When to escalate

If a China Post parcel shows no movement for 3–4 weeks, contact the seller (e.g. on AliExpress) to open a dispute before the buyer-protection window closes.
